Koppal — once Kopana Nagara, fondly called Jaina Kashi — is ringed by scenic hills and history: Koppal Fort, Gavimath, Malemallappa Temple, and the UNESCO heritage of Hampi nearby. SSIS names its houses after these iconic hills, so that cultural pride, unity and values are stitched into every inter-house contest.

Encouraging students to be faithful, dedicated and committed in all their endeavours.
Malyavanta
Inspiring courage, determination and the strength to face challenges with confidence.

Nurturing kindness, respect and a grounded attitude in every student.
Music
Keyboard, tabla, harmonium, guitar and drums, alongside Hindustani and Carnatic vocals — and a full school band.
Art & Craft
The studio is one of the happiest rooms of the school: clay, origami, painting — every child's work displayed in the gallery.
Dance
Classical forms like Bharatanatyam and Odissi taught alongside folk and western — every child free to find their own form.
Eco Club
Gardens, waste drives and the campus's green conscience.
Literature Club
Debates, young poets' meets and the school magazine.
Change Makers
Small hands, real community projects around Koppal.

Horses are the best therapists. With skilled trainers, the academy gives every child the finest introduction to the art of riding — balance, empathy and a life skill forever.
Very few schools in the country keep their own riding academy; SSIS built one on campus so that riding is not an outing but a habit. Under the trainers' eyes, children learn to groom, mount and ride — and along the way pick up the quieter lessons a horse teaches: patience, posture, courage and care for another living being.
Skilled resident trainers
Every session supervised, from the first mount to confident riding.
For every age
A gentle introduction in the early classes, real riding as they grow.
Balance & empathy
Riding builds posture, focus and a bond with the animal — lessons no classroom can give.

Life skills, stillness and shared evenings — practised as regularly as mathematics.
Life Skills Programme
A robust programme for emotional, physical and spiritual well-being — abilities for adaptive, positive living that no textbook carries.
Yoga
Balance, endurance and calm. Yoga is woven into physical education — improving focus, memory, self-esteem and classroom behaviour.
Bhagavad-Gita Saturdays
Every Saturday, a thousand students chant together in the auditorium — moral education as a shared, living habit that many families have adopted at home.
Movie Time
Sunday evenings for hostellers: Hollywood to Bollywood, TED talks, documentaries and live speeches on the big LED screen — the campus as one family.
No-Bag Day
Once a week, shoulders are free — a day of activities, field learning and play, by design.
SEWA
SEWA develops the whole person — intellectual, personal, emotional and social. Through experiential community service, students grow as lifelong learners and caring, compassionate citizens.
Management, teachers, parents and educationists meet thrice yearly for policy decisions.
Regular parent–teacher interactions for feedback and counselling.
Parent orientation programme at the start of every academic year.
ERP access to attendance, progress and circulars.
To give our students worldly exposure and new perspectives of global vision, regular exchange programmes are organised (presently in online mode) — building awareness of geographies, acceptance of cultural diversity, and cultural capital that lasts.
